Ripples & Reflections: A Fluid Perspective
In Ripples & Reflections: A Fluid Perspective, Lucian Roman treats water as both subject and collaborator. Rather than photographing the city directly, he photographs its echo—light and architecture translated through rippling surfaces into bands of colour, softened silhouettes, and shimmering distortions. The result is a series that sits between photography and painting: part document, part illusion.
Blue depths hold luminous veins of gold, amber, and electric colour; reflections stretch into column-like forms that feel at once architectural and atmospheric. The images move between recognisable structure and pure abstraction, inviting the viewer to oscillate—seeing a skyline one moment, an expressive colour field the next.
As a body of work, the series is a meditation on impermanence and perception: how a fixed city becomes fluid when filtered through water, and how meaning shifts with the slightest change of surface. These prints suit collectors drawn to contemporary abstraction, minimalism, and meditative interiors—works that carry calm, light, and subtle complexity.
